I fished yesterday with my buddy Ray in a spot where we normally have some good walleye action. Yesterday stunk...neither of us even marked what we thought looked like a keeper fish. The highlight of the afternoon was Ray's pike which came in at 40 inches and 17.5 lbs., which he released. We fished near Escanaba and had a good solid foot of ice. I have had some decent perch reports coming from the head of the bay in 10-15 fow near First Reef and Nelson's Bay. Respect others, stay a good distance from permanent shanties, keep the noise down and everybody can have a good time.
