Looking to take a few co-workers out pulling for eyes in LBDN on Sunday morning... Was looking for any tips on good places to start or where the "hot bite" is or if it has already shut off completely... thx in advanced for any help received! :)
We trolled for a while each of the past two days on my charter trips, however we could only catch undersized fish. All of our keepers (9 Thursday and 16 today) came by pitching jigs/crawlers along weedlines and sharp drop-offs. We did get a few drifting floating jigs tipped with crawler halves when the wind got too bad to pitch leadheads. Lots of mayflies hatching out now and some of our fish coughed up alewives in the livewell. Bigger fish have been hard to come by...and not marking many either. Big Bay may be a better bet if you want to troll. With the mayflies hatching out there is usually a good walleye bite over there at this time. Try out from the sandpit or the boot area with crawler harnesses spaced at different depths in the water column until you figure out where they are. Good luck...
