Though we didn't catch the "keepers' that my brother and his kids did today, we had just as much fun! My wife Theresa and I took my niece's daughter Sierra to Hamilton Lake this evening for bluegills. We just fished off shore and only caught two that would have been keepers, but I don't think that made much difference to Sierra! All the little ones kept us plenty busy. Hamilton Lake is just south of Loretto off US 2 (between Escanaba and Iron Mountain). This is a great spot to take the youngsters (or old farts for that matter). My dad caught some really nice bluegills here over the summer, but I guess the bigger ones must have moved a little deeper. Might have caught more if "Uncle Kevin" didn't cast into the weeds too! Anyway, better get out there folks before this awesome weather goes bye-bye!!!
